One day, while trying to learn how to paint, and I was overcome with a strong desire to draw. This led me to buy a drawing pen, ink, and oil base colored pencils.

I had never done anything like this before and I felt quite overwhelmed. I prayed, Lord, I don’t know how or where to begin but please teach me to draw.

After my family went to bed every night I would sit down at a small table that I put in the breakfast room. Before I started I would always pray “Lord please teach me to draw”. Then I would thank him.

It wasn’t long before I found my self drawing flowers …. Lots and lots of flowers. I had drawn so many flowers that I soon began to pray “Lord, what can I draw besides flowers”?

The thought of my grandparents flooded my mind. As a child I loved spending time each summer at their dairy farm. All of the sweet memories came rushing back to me. I recalled when grandpa would sit on a log next to the mailbox and wait for the mailman to come. I remembered how I would go with him to pick apples. Then we would take those apples up to the house for grandma to bake an apple pie. I can still smell her apple pie.

When grandpa and I would go digging for worms we would take the old milk bucket to put them in. Then we would pick out our fishing poles that were just outside the back door. From there we would walk down to the pond and fish the whole afternoon from the bank.

All of these memories started coming back as if they were yesterday. I decided to draw the memories on cards with a story on the back. Then I would always put “J e s u s” in the artwork. My hopes are that people will seek him. When they find the last letter my prayer is that they say his name. There is power in his name.

Each time I completed a card and show it to someone they would oooo and ahhhh over it. My friends have been such an encouragement to me. At their prompting I have had the cards printed. I hope I can share them with you. I hope you can be reminded of those special times in your life that are with you forever.

Ask and it will be given to you seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
